Inland Feeder Program, Arrowhead Tunnels and Highland Pipeline
Southern California Metropolitan Water District, San Bernardino, CA
The $1.2 Billion, 44-mile Inland Feeder water line will more than double water delivery capacity, providing the region with an additional 650 million gallons per day of imported water. The Inland Feeder program is a critical component to the water delivery system and is one of the largest water lines built in the past three decades. This project is part of a larger program that includes 95,000 feet of large diameter tunnels and 135,000 feet of buried pipeline from the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains to the Colorado River Aqueduct to meet the growing water needs of Southern California. The scope of this specific project is the completion of the Arrowhead East and West Tunnels, which are part of an overall system of water delivery tunnels comprised of eight segments beginning at Devil Canyon in the San Bernardino Mountains and terminating at the Eastside pipeline in Riverside County.
Cordoba worked with the construction management team to initially provide schedule monitoring, cost estimating and claims analysis services. During construction Cordoba provided 24-hour quality control inspection services as part of the construction of the Arrowhead (East and West) Tunnels and the Highland Pipeline segments.
