San Bernardino International Airport
Street Improvements, San Bernardino, CA
Cordoba Corporation performed both design (PS&E) and construction management services overseeing roadway improvements (construction cost of $6M) surrounding the San Bernardino International Airport, comprising approximately 8,800 linear feet of street widening, reconstruction and/or restriping. The street segments included were:
- Del Rosa Drive from Third Street to Harry Sheppard Boulevard.
- Harry Sheppard Boulevard from Del Rosa Drive to Leland Norton Way.
- Leland Norton Way from Harry Sheppard Boulevard to Third Street.
- Rialto Avenue from Del Rosa Drive to Leland Norton Way.
- Airport Drive from Rialto Avenue to Harry Sheppard Boulevard.
- Perimeter Road from Leland Norton Way to Sterling Avenue.
The roadway improvements consist of approximately two miles of roadways providing access to the airport and include street widening and reconstruction. The roadway improvements include drainage, traffic, utility adjustments or relocations, streetscape landscaping, signage and street lighting, sidewalks and ADA curb ramps as necessary. Urban design was a major factor in the design of the roadway, as these key investments will support the future commercial airport.
