Exposition Light Rail Phase II

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Exposition Light Rail Transit Phase II

Los Angeles, CA

Cordoba Corporation’s engineers provided engineering design support for the guideway civil group that was responsible for all civil engineering elements within the Metro right-of-way. The package completed by Cordoba Corporation engineers included design of the ballast curb, bikeway, fencing, and emergency walkways. Our engineers were responsible for finalizing plan sets, inter-team coordination, submittal package management, and for providing oversight of support staff within the guideway civil group.

A $1.5 billion design/build project, Expo Phase II will extend the recently completed light rail transit line an additional 6.6 miles from Culver City to 4th Street and Colorado Ave in the City of Santa Monica, dropping off riders just a few blocks from the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Currently under construction, Phase 2 of the Expo Line will include seven new stations serving popular destinations along the Westside. The ultimate completion of the Expo Line will provide for affordable, efficient, and sustainable access to job centers for the communities along the corridor from Santa Monica to Downtown. Travel time between Los Angeles and Santa Monica is anticipated at 46 minutes, including at rush hour.
