Long Beach Community College District Construction and Modernization Bond Program

Long Beach, CA

The Long Beach Community College District Construction and Modernization Bond Program represents the institution’s long-term vision for providing opportunities for academic growth and addressing aging facilities and infrastructure on the Pacific Coast Campus (PCC) and Liberal Arts Campus (LAC).

Funding provided by Measure E, and widely supported by voters in the Long Beach community, targets the needs of the two campuses well into the future. The construction program is based on meeting the growth needs of the academic program of instruction, and has roots in addressing aging buildings and infrastructure at LAC and PCC, much of which is 60 to 70 years old.

Cordoba Corp provides comprehensive project and construction management services to the Long Beach Community College District in support of their expansion and modernization efforts.  This $770 million capital program involves over 30 facilities located on two campuses as well as remote sites totaling 144 square miles.  Projects have included specialized classrooms such as culinary, automotive, aeronautical, and day care facilities, gymnasiums, seismic retrofits, science laboratories, central plants, and administrative space, to name only a few.  Cordoba Corporation is the program and construction manager, and represents the District at every stage of every project.
