Senior Project Manager, San Diego, CA


Position Summary: 

Cordoba Corporation is actively seeking a Senior Project Manager, Construction to direct distribution engineering projects and activities for our energy sector in San Diego.


Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to the distribution
  • Develop, design and execute distribution engineering projects, including engineering calculations, PSCAD modeling and technical reports
  • Identify and communicate key engineering/procurement data attributes and deliverables, needing to be developed during design development in order to support construction operations
  • Lead project activities with engineering/design, construction and inspection services from inception to completion
  • Present analysis results and project solutions to technical project team members and client
  • Develop specific project plans complete with budgetary information and resource needs
  • Provide assigned staff with constructive feedback, development and advice
  • Lead and Support construction schedule development, including defining interfaces with other disciplines/commodities
  • Lead and Support project cost estimation development
  • Troubleshoot problems that come up during all phases of a project
  • Conduct regular project meetings for each project
  • Ensure projects are completed on-time and within the specified budget


Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise

  • Fully knowledgeable on the required technical and regulatory documents for designing and construction distribution systems in California
  • Current knowledge and technical skills required to design, construct and operate electrical distribution systems
  • Excellent communication, organization, time-management and leadership skills
  • Expertise in data and problem analysis, creative problem solving and design thinking
  • Knowledge of project construction and construction management


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Electrical Distribution Engineering
  • 15 -20 years related work experience with 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, including creating and delivering presentations
  • Proficient skills in essential software applications, such as Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Visio; and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, including creating forms and binders
