Rick Simon is a seasoned transportation engineer with over 30 years of experience in both roadway and rail.  His rail experience includes extensive involvement in California’s high-speed rail project since its earliest conceptual studies in the 1990s. He has now served as Project Manager and Engineering Manager for the Los Angeles to San Diego section of the alignment. Additionally, he led the Regional Consultant team in the development and analysis of various alignment alternatives and design refinements.

Rick started his career with a focus on roadways having worked for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Rick has been involved in every aspect of major highway projects from conceptual design to inspection and has served both as Design and Project Manager for major highway projects throughout Southern California and Arizona.

In addition to his high-level technical assignments, Rick has demonstrated organizational and management skills as the Office Lead responsible for the overall operations of the Riverside, California office of a major engineering consulting firm.
