Overview

Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Aerial Overhead Inspection (AOI) Program is a systemwide initiative focused on improving the safety, reliability, and resilience of its electric grid—especially in High Fire Risk Areas (HFRA). By using helicopters and drones, SCE gains detailed visibility of overhead assets that are difficult or unsafe to inspect from the ground.

Cordoba’s Role

Cordoba has supported SCE’s Aerial Overhead Inspection Program since 2019 by reviewing aerial imagery of transmission and distribution assets in High Fire Risk Areas, identifying and classifying defects, and preparing reports that align with SCE’s inspection standards. Our team also develops program tools, manages and analyzes inspection data, conducts quality reviews, and creates training materials to improve consistency and performance. To meet rapid program demands, Cordoba scaled from six to more than forty specialists—including qualified electrical workers, engineers, coordinators, and construction professionals—and completed the initial inspection cycle within the required 90‑day window. Throughout the program, Cordoba has remained focused on delivering responsive, high‑quality support and adapting quickly to evolving program needs.
