As the second largest school district in the United States LAUSD has developed a robust process for managing the development of its facilities. The program, encompassing over 1000 schools and education centers, includes projects in various stages of planning, design, and construction, and is funded by a variety of programs including state and local bonds. LAUSD contracts with construction management firms to assist the District in managing the facilities program at the central office, in field offices and at project sites located throughout its region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cordoba Corporation provided comprehensive construction management services across multiple major initiatives within Los Angeles Unified School District, supporting the delivery of modern, high\u2011performing educational facilities throughout the District. Its role spanned capital program oversight, complex site coordination, historic facility adaptation, and district-wide infrastructure improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Solar Initiatives Project<\/strong> \u2014 Cordoba provided construction management for the District\u2019s solar energy installations, coordinating with PG&E, reviewing procurement and installation procedures, and ensuring proper testing of battery backup systems. Because the work required full electrical shutdowns, Cordoba planned and executed all activities during weekends to maintain safety and avoid disruption to instructional operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • Fremont High School<\/strong> \u2014 Cordoba managed one of the East Bay\u2019s largest incremental construction programs, overseeing a $96 million modernization of a legacy campus. Responsibilities included full construction management oversight, coordination of evolving project conditions, and maintaining progress through pandemic\u2011related disruptions. Cordoba\u2019s leadership contributed to the project earning an ENR Merit Award as Northern California\u2019s Best K\u201112 Education Project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
