The Dolores Huerta Foundation Peace and Justice Cultural Center is a planned community hub in downtown Bakersfield that will serve as both a tribute to Dolores Huerta\u2019s lifelong work and a major resource for organizing, education, and cultural expression. Designed as a multi\u2011building campus, it will house the Foundation\u2019s headquarters, an Organizing Academy for youth and adult leadership training, community meeting spaces, and cultural arts facilities intended to celebrate the region\u2019s diverse communities. With more than $34 million secured in public and private funding and construction scheduled to begin in 2025, the Center aims to become a regional anchor for civic engagement, social justice, and economic empowerment, offering programs that strengthen grassroots leadership and expand opportunities for historically underserved communities. As the project moves toward its anticipated 2027 opening, it is positioned to reshape downtown Bakersfield as a destination for culture, advocacy, and community-building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cordoba\u2019s team has supported the Foundation from the earliest stages of the project, providing conceptual budgeting and scheduling to help shape a realistic path toward construction. Our staff also led the site selection and acquisition process, and we continue to oversee design coordination and permitting to keep the project moving smoothly.
