Cordoba Corporation’s Bond Management Team at Long Beach City College (LBCC) was honored with a Project Achievement Award<\/strong> at the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Southern California Chapter’s 26th Annual Scholarship and Project Awards Gala<\/strong> on April 26, 2018.\u00a0 Project Achievement Awards “recognize outstanding achievement\u00a0in the practice of construction management.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Cordoba’s LBCC Bond Management Team earned the CMAA Project Achievement Award for\u00a0Buildings QQ & RR at the LBCC Pacific Coast Campus.\u00a0 The $20.3 million project, which was financed with voter-approved bonds, involved a new two-story 24,454-square foot building (Building QQ) and an adjacent renovated building (Building RR).\u00a0 Both buildings house LBCC’s Electrical Technology Program, with Building QQ sharing space with a new Lifetime Learning Center offering Senior Studies programs for older adults.\u00a0 The buildings provide students and faculty with state-of-the-art labs and technology as well as \u201cgreen\u201d features to save energy and water use.<\/p>\n

Contracted as the Bond Management Team at LBCC, Cordoba Corporation provides comprehensive project and construction management services in support of LBCC’s capital program.\u00a0 Key Cordoba Bond Management Team members were present to accept the CMAA Project Achievement Award, including Program Director Terrance DeGray<\/strong>, Construction Manager John Duong<\/strong>, Assistant Construction Managers Noel De Castro<\/strong> and Joshua Beltran<\/strong>, and Project Coordinator Nicole Soria-Velarde<\/strong>, along with LBCC’s Deputy Director of Planning & Construction Medhanie Ephrem<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am thrilled that this project at LBCC\u2019s Pacific Coast Campus has been honored by the CMAA Southern California Chapter,\u201d stated Terrance DeGray.<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cThis was an exciting project for our team and the campus, as it allows the college to expand its services to more seniors in the community, while the modernized Electrical Technology facilities will provide students with state-of-the-art labs, technology and green features that will help conserve water and energy use. \u00a0I am really proud of our Cordoba Bond Management Team for providing project and construction management leadership on this important project.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the April 26th<\/sup> event, the CMAA Southern California Chapter Foundation also acknowledged 2017 \u2013 2018 summer interns and scholarship sponsors and recipients, including Sarah Donnally of Cal Poly Pomona, who served as a sponsored intern at Cordoba Corporation at the LBCC Bond Management Program.<\/p>\n
