Cordoba Corporation is pleased to celebrate Engineers Week by highlighting the experience, skills and insights from some of our talented engineers. These team members are serving in a wide variety of positions on projects across the state and represent different viewpoints, disciplines and experiences. They join our entire Engineering Team in celebrating Engineers Week and Making a Difference for our clients and communities.<\/p>\n

\"PhotoCarlos Quintana, P.E., MASCE, CSI<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carlos Quintana is a Senior Project Manager at Cordoba Corporation, where he currently provides leadership and project management for the City of Pico Rivera Public Works Department.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Cordoba Corporation, Carlos spent over 30 years at the Port of Los Angeles.\u00a0 His professional experience includes program\/project management, planning and design of multifaceted marine infrastructure, container terminals, roadway, railroad, and intermodal transportation facilities.\u00a0 During his career at the Port of Los Angeles, Carlos managed and directed design teams for numerous Port projects, including the Pier 400 Transportation Corridor, the Navy Way Grade Separation, Harry Bridges Boulevard Improvements and the Evergreen and YTI\u00a0 Container Terminal Redevelopment.<\/p>\n

During the last few years of his career at the Port, Carlos managed the Specifications and Special Projects Section where he directed the preparation of specifications, construction documents, cost estimates and contracts for the Engineering and Construction Divisions.<\/p>\n

Carlos started his career as a student engineer during his senior year in college.\u00a0 Throughout his career Carlos enjoyed training, guiding and being a mentor to young starting engineers.\u00a0 This led to the development of a comprehensive student intern program and training for entry-level engineers.<\/p>\n

Carlos is a registered Professional Engineer and an active member of the Construction Specification Institute (CSI).\u00a0 He graduated from California State University Long Beach with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.\u00a0 Carlos enjoys traveling locally and abroad with his family.\u00a0 As an avid music lover, Carlos plays the violin and performs in over ten concerts every season with the Santa Monica Symphony and the Beach Cities Symphony in Torrance.<\/p>\n

\"EngineerKetan Lahurikar<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ketan Lahurikar is a Project Engineer on the Santa Clara Valley Water District’s Rinconada Water Treatment Reliability Improvement Project, where he provides construction engineering support to the contractor, works with inspectors on quality assurance, assists with submittals and design changes, and coordinates with the contractor on equipment training.<\/p>\n

Ketan earned his Master of Science in Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University – Kingsvale, and his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Deogiri Institute of Engineering and Management Studies in India. Ketan’s studies have provided him with valuable experience and education in Construction Project Management, Structural Engineering, and Transportation Engineering.<\/p>\n

Ketan’s experience includes serving as a Junior Engineer on a residential construction project and a stormwater drainage project, as well as executing project management functions on a highway project in India.\u00a0 Ketan also served as an Intern for a construction company at a Ready Mix Concrete Plant in India, where he gained valuable experience in concrete technology.<\/p>\n

Ketan is an Engineer-in-Training, proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, and he has certifications from Procore in Project Management and Construction Financials.\u00a0 In addition, Ketan has completed Advanced Training in Primavera P6 and is studying MicroStation and Building Information Modeling.<\/p>\n

\"PhotoKevin Hoffert<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kevin Hoffert is an engineer with a diverse project history including water, railway, structures, and roadway projects. He has worked on both sides of the fence as a representative of the contractor as well as working on the construction management team. He puts an emphasis on safety and goes above his job description to ensure that proper precautions are taken.<\/p>\n

Kevin is currently serving as a Project Engineer on the Santa Clara Valley Water District Rinconada Water Treatment Reliability Improvement Project, where he coordinates and runs project meetings, reviews RFI\/submittals for conformance to job specifications, identifies\/remediates errors in plans and specifications, maintains project documentation, evaluates potential Change Orders for validity, and actualizes contractor schedules.<\/p>\n

His previous experience includes serving as an Assistant Safety Manager for the Bay Area Rapid Transit District’s Transbay Tube Seismic Retrofit Project, as a Project Engineer for the City of San Diego’s Park De La Cruz Recreation and Gym Improvements Project, and as an Engineering Intern for Caltrans’ Bay Bridge Demolition Project.<\/p>\n

Kevin earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University and a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State College.\u00a0 He is an Engineer-In Training and an Associate Safety Professional, and he is certified in CPR\/First Aid\/AED.<\/p>\n

\"EngineerPolo Ramirez, CCM<\/strong><\/p>\n

Polo Ramirez has 25 years of civil engineering experience involving the design, management, and construction of major civil highway and underground projects and heavy and light rail transportation facilities. His experience also includes the demolition of facilities, new and existing bridge projects, and the modernization and new construction of building facilities and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

He has performed in the capacity of many project roles, including deputy program manager, project manager, construction manager, design manager, assistant project manager, assistant resident engineer, project engineer, field inspector, and estimator. His projects have ranged from $5 million to $1.65 billion and he has a proven track record of creating and managing a team of professionals for successful operations and taking on a wide variety of projects from the conceptual to the post-contract stage.<\/p>\n

Polo is currently serving as a Deputy Project Manager on the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Eastside Transit Corridor Phase II Project.<\/p>\n

Polo earned his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California.\u00a0 He is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and a member of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).\u00a0 Other certifications include Project Manager Certification (PMC) from Parsons and Primavera Project Planner Certification.<\/p>\n

\"PhotoRosana Brito<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rosana Brito is an enthusiastic, forward-thinking engineer with proven experience in preparing detailed projects plans, cost estimates, and project closeout documents. Rosana holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the National Polytechnical University of the Armed Forces in Venezuela, and she has held various positions in Venezuela, Panama, and United States as a maintenance supervisor, business development manager, and buyer.<\/p>\n

Rosana is currently lead on the closeout of major San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) pipeline retrofit projects. She reviews completion sketches, as-builts, and MTRs, and she ensures pertinent documents are generated and meet project requirements. She communicates and coordinates with SDG&E representatives and assists Project Manager and Project Engineer as needed. Prior to project submission, Rosana verifies project deliverables meet specifications and closeout policies, and ensures SDG&E standards are met. For her excellence in project delivery, Rosana has received recognition for her outstanding work.<\/p>\n

She is a Registered Professional Engineer and is bilingual in Spanish and English.\u00a0 Rosana’s software skills include SAP, AutoCAD basic, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, QuickBooks, Xero accounting software, and Hawksoft (policyholder’s software).\u00a0 Rosana also has experience in market analysis and planning strategies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
