Cordoba is proud to highlight its role in the successful delivery of Saddleback College’s new Math and Computer Science (MCS) Building, a transformative academic facility designed to advance STEM education for students across South Orange County.
The three‑story, 48,000‑square‑foot building represents a major investment in the future of STEM learning at Saddleback College. With a construction value of approximately $57 million, the facility provides a modern, state‑of‑the‑art environment featuring advanced classrooms, computer labs, faculty offices, collaborative study areas, and specialized infrastructure to support the College’s rapidly growing Math, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity programs.
In addition to the building itself, the project includes extensive site and landscape improvements, most notably a new pedestrian connector bridge linking the lower campus to the central quad. This bridge enhances campus circulation and creates a more intuitive, accessible, and engaging student experience.
The project was constructed by Icon West, with architectural design by HGA, whose vision brought to life a contemporary, light‑filled facility that blends seamlessly with the campus’s hillside topography.
Cordoba assumed the construction management (CM) role during the latter stages of construction, guiding the project through completion. Over the past year, Cordoba has worked closely with the South Orange County Community College District (SOCCCD), Saddleback College leadership, and the full project team to ensure a smooth transition, maintain project momentum, and uphold the District’s standards for quality, safety, and performance.
“We are honored to support SOCCCD and Saddleback College in delivering a facility that will shape the next generation of STEM professionals,” said Alexandra ‘Alex” Holguin, Construction Manager, Cordoba, “This building is more than a learning space—it is an investment in innovation, opportunity, and the long‑term success of students across the region.”
The new MCS Building stands as a testament to the District’s commitment to academic excellence and to creating environments that inspire collaboration, discovery, and student achievement.
