IRVINE, CA — Irvine Valley College (IVC) and South Orange County Community College District (SOCCCD) today celebrated the groundbreaking of their most ambitious construction project to date, marking a transformative moment in the institution’s history.
The landmark development will dramatically reshape the campus landscape with two state-of-the-art facilities totaling over 77,000 square feet. The centerpiece includes a new 47,803-square-foot Student Services Building and a 30,300-square-foot Student Union Building, designed to enhance the student experience and modernize campus resources.
A highlight of the project is the creation of a stunning new Quad area, capable of hosting more than 3,000 people for commencement ceremonies and campus events. This flexible outdoor space will serve as a vibrant gathering place for students, faculty, and the broader community.
“Cordoba Corporation is honored to lead the construction management of this transformative project,” said Michael Boomsma, Vice President of Education & Facilities at Cordoba Corporation. “Our team is committed to delivering facilities that will enhance the educational experience and create lasting value for the IVC community.”
